Strengthening collaboration and focus for the Scouts communications team

The Scouts UK

In 2021, the Scouts needed to bring its communications team together for its first face-to-face meeting after the lockdowns. We were asked to design a session that would help the team re-connect, re-charge and to shape their audience focus, in the lead up to the launch of their major new programme Squirrels.

The following summer, we re-joined the team to run a day of activities that would help strengthen collaboration across an expanded directorate. This included sessions to build understanding within the team about its individual and collective strengths and skills, as well as ways team members could adapt to different working styles within the group.

Both days were designed to foster a team culture where everyone could feel connected, energised and set up to do their best work. The directorate has been commended for its strong team culture in an Investors in People Gold award. The Scouts was also recognised as Charity of the Year (with an income of more than £10m) in the Charity Times Awards 2022. It has been a real pleasure to work with the communications team who have helped make this possible.

RandallFox has designed and run two highly productive and engaging days for our team, both of which left us all feeling energised and excited about some new creative ideas as well as how we work together. Thanks to their inclusive and sensitive approach, I was confident that everyone in the team would have an equal opportunity to contribute, leaving me free to take part in discussions. I’ve had glowing feedback from the team and have come away with insights that will inform our work for months to come. I would heartily recommend them to others.
